1. Quick Write--Describe what you did this weekend. Use as much details as you can.
2. Because of how hot it was we watched a video on The Sun so we could see cool visuals.

1. Begin Activity 1.5--pg. 13 Historic Pathways to the American Dream
2. Beginning tomorrow you will re-read your sections and complete a double entry journal.
  • The journal will in fact have 3 columns.
  • Divide your paper into 3 sections.
  • The first section will be for quotes from the texts you are reading.
  • The second section will be for your response to the quote. This can be questions that you have about what you are reading, opinions you are forming, and/or how you managed to understand what you were reading.
  • The third column is a modern connection of what you have read to what you know. This response can be connections to different things. Other things you may have read, what you have seen or experienced in the world, or connections to music, movies, tv, and/or games. ANYTHING goes if you can explain your connections it can work.
